Welcome to Bike Medic. These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of our services. By booking with us, you agree to the following terms. Please read them carefully.

1. Definitions

“Bike Medic” refers to the mobile bicycle servicing business operated in Auckland, New Zealand.“Customer”, “You”, “Your” means the person booking or receiving services from Bike Medic.“Services” refers to all bicycle repairs, maintenance, and related work performed by Bike Medic.

2. Booking and Service Delivery

• Services can be booked via our website, phone, or email.
• Appointment times are estimates and may vary due to traffic, job complexity, or weather.
• You must be present at the agreed location and time or provide prior access approval.
• In some cases, bikes may be taken off-site to our workshop for further servicing. You’ll be informed and consent will be obtained before transport.

3. Pricing and Payment

• All prices are quoted in New Zealand dollars (NZD) and exclude parts and travel costs unless specified.
• After-hours or urgent call-outs may incur additional charges.
• Payment is due on completion of work unless otherwise arranged. We accept EFTPOS, credit/debit cards, and online transfer.

4. Warranty and Workmanship

• Bike Medic offers a 14-day workmanship warranty on completed services.
• This warranty does not cover:
  • Wear and tear or damage from misuse post-service;
  • Issues arising from undisclosed modifications or aftermarket parts;
  • Manufacturer faults, especially in proprietary e-bike systems;
  • Damage caused by conditions outside our control (e.g., weather, riding conditions).

5. Customer Responsibilities

You agree to:

• Provide a safe, level, and weather-appropriate area for service;
• Inform us of any pre-existing faults, prior repairs, or modifications;
• Disclose the presence of aftermarket or custom components prior to service;
• Ensure the bike is in a reasonably clean state unless otherwise arranged.

Failure to disclose key information may affect the quality or safety of service and void any applicable warranty.

6. Liability and Property Damage

• While we exercise utmost care, Bike Medic is not liable for:
  • Existing faults or damage unrelated to our service;
  • Failures due to customer-installed parts or non-compatible components;
  • Damage to driveways, garages, or premises unless resulting from clear and proven negligence.
• Any claim for property damage must be reported in writing within 48 hours of service completion.

7. Cancellations and Rescheduling

• Cancellations within 24 hours of a scheduled appointment may incur a cancellation fee.
• We reserve the right to cancel or reschedule in case of adverse weather, illness, or mechanical breakdown. In such cases, we will notify you as soon as possible.

8. E-Bike Servicing Limitations

We service many popular e-bike models, but:

• Firmware updates or diagnostics may be restricted by manufacturer access;
• Battery and motor servicing is subject to the availability of compatible tools and software;
• For issues outside our scope, we will recommend a licensed e-bike specialist or dealer.

9. Insurance and Damage Claims

• We can provide repair quotes for insurance claims (e.g., accident or transport damage).
• Please inform us if a job is for an insurance assessment when booking.

10. Intellectual Property

All content on our website (text, images, branding) remains the property of Bike Medic and may not be copied or reused without permission.

11. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of New Zealand. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the New Zealand courts.

12. Updates to These Terms

We may revise these Terms from time to time. The most current version will always be available on our website. Continued use of our services constitutes acceptance of any updated Terms.
